Jessica Hall ~ Co-Director

Jessica Hall grew up in the Frederick area and is a Pony Club graduate. She started out riding Hunter/Jumpers and once she got into Pony Club started Eventing and has never looked back. She has a passion for teaching both humans and animals. Her experience ranges from foaling out broodmares, riding Stallions, coaching young riders and adult amateurs, to starting horses from the ground up. She has even made hay!

Emily Lahaie ~ Co-Director

Emily comes to us from California with a BA and MA focusing on Human Rights in International Development. After substitute teaching she decided to make a career change to pursue working with children and horses. She has over 15 years of experience working with children and over 8 years of riding experience. In her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, hiking and spending time with her husband and their dogs.

Miki Boulin ~ Rider Biomechanic Coach

Miki Boulin grew up riding horses and participating in both 4H and Pony Club. Miki received her Horsemaster certificate in 1984 from old Potomac Horse Center. She worked at Potomac Horse Center from 1984-86 as a riding instructor and assistant barn manager. In 1987, Miki became the founding director of the equestrian program here at Butler Montessori (then Butler School.) Miki was director from 1987 – 2000 and during this time she continued to train and learn, adding various certificates to her resume.

  • 1998-2009 ARIA (American Riding Instructor Association) Level 2 Certified Instructor, Dressage and Combined Training
  • 2018 RWYM Biomechanics Coach

Since 2007 she has enjoyed continuing to teach, judge and train while going back to school to work towards a degree in digital media design and videography. Miki enjoys teaching and has recently completed her certification as a RWYM (Ride With Your Mind) bio-mechanics coach.
